Highlights: Even when the rivers of the north are now off limits, there are plenty of places where you can take a dip in Pesach. One of the most loved pearls in the river is Ein Aviel - a cute spring that for some reason has several duplicates in the area with the same name. After the dip, you can also zoom in and walk along the side of the stream, looking for more stilt corners, small waterfalls, and other winning spots for a hidden picnic. All you have to do is choose your water trip. For more suggestions for itineraries, go to our special trips page for Passover. The length of the track starts from a few hundred meters, according to desire. From here, you descend steeply into the depth of the wadi, join the Ein Meboa spring pool further down the stream, which flows from the Jerusalem area to the north of the Dead Sea, near Jericho. A stream for the little ones: Ein Aviel in Nahal Taninim

There were once crocodiles in Nahal Taninin. Today, there are mostly children here. The reason: many hiking itineraries in the river include incredibly shallow dives. One of the most loved pearls in the river is Ein Aviel - a cute spring that for some reason has several duplicates in the area, with the same name. But you don't care - what's important is that you get to the stream and find yourself the ultimate baptismal pool, in the section between Aviel and Amikam. After the dip, you can also zoom in and walk along the side of the stream, looking for more stilt corners, small waterfalls and other winning spots for a hidden picnic courtesy of tangled reed plants.

Nahal Ergot in a light family version

The many travelers who come to the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve during Passover mainly visit Nahal David, which offers relatively easy routes to the nearby Nahal Ergot, which is also within the reserve. But it turns out that there is also an easy and circular family route in Nahal Ergot. It does not include the picturesque "upper pools" nor the hidden waterfall, but on the other hand - it will definitely give your little ones a taste of a wild oasis, including lots of splashes.

This route even has a semi-official name: "The Lower Pools Route". All you need is to enter the reserve, walk along the path marked in red and reach the world of water and glitches. The way back is done right in the water, on a path marked in blue.

Nahal Zalmon, small and cute

We know, we said "the northern streams are closed". But Nahal Zalmon is a more moderate north. We will call it "Lower North". So if the situation during Passover allows, we definitely recommend a walk beside this cute little stream, which will also beg you to dip in some of the shallow pools that are in it. Just pay attention before the trip to find out on the website of the Nature and Parks Authority whether a problematic level of pollution was recorded there. Because it's spring now and there are cows lying around that sometimes make a bit of a mess. So just in case.

And next to the water you will find riverside plants, cute orchards and the remains of ancient flour mills that will complete the picture. Although the route is linear, it is so easy and short that it will not be a problem to send a driver on duty to the starting point.

the length of the route is about 1.5 km in each direction. At Wise "Nahal Zalmon National Park". To the end point: "Nahal Zalmon - end of the route".

Nahal Kini, in Katana

Sometimes it seems that the word "stream" is a bit big on the shallow and narrow watercourse of Nahal Kini, but if you are with little ones, it can be a short and perfect family trip (held on red trail markings). And another advantage: it is located next to the Megiddo Junction, relatively close to the center of the country. There is rich stream vegetation that is fun for the little ones to hide in, and also the remains of a flour mill. The full length of the route is about 2 km (circular), but you can simply arrive, dip and grab a corner in the shade for half a day.

Lesser known baptisms in Nahal Euphrates

Everyone knows the Ein Perat Nature Reserve, where part is regulated with a flowing stream and delightful dipping pools. Many also know the Ein Meboa spring pool further down the stream, which flows from the Jerusalem area to the north of the Dead Sea, near Jericho. Both of these will probably be full of travelers during the holiday, so we will send you on a slightly more challenging trip in the river, but with lots of wild desert scenery.

The trip in this part of the Euphrates River (Wadi Kelt) is mainly suitable for families who love hiking. It begins at Mitzpe Shacharit, near the entrance square to the settlement of Nopi Perat. From here you descend steeply into the depth of the wadi, join the blue trail markings and turn with it to the right (east). The first pool is the gorge pool with a noisy waterfall. A few hundred meters east from there, a much more beautiful, deep and large pool awaits you. Don't leave it, because from here to the finish point you will have a grueling climb (on a black trail), so enjoy it while you can. The end point is Matzfar Shesha, next to the village of Kfar Adumim.

An oasis of old: Nahal Yatb - Ojah

If you've been hanging out in the right groups on social media in recent years, you must have watched the "slide" of Nahal Yatb - Oja, which winds in the Jordan Valley. It is a long concrete slide where the water of the stream flows wildly, straight into a pool of water. Many do come and slide down it (we not recommended, for fear of injuries), but you miss the continuation of the stream: a short walk up the stream will bring you to pools of water that look like a classic oasis. It's true, it's not always clean, but there are places where it really looks like

magic What you need to do is to continue with the car to the parking lot next to the river, and from

there

walk for about a kilometer until you find your best corner. It is recommended to go in a group.

Write on the Oja slide (it is possible to reach it from road 90). -1 km, as desired.

flow with the yarkon

The Yarkon gets pretty bad public relations in terms of its water quality. In some cases and in some parts of it, this is indeed true. But there are points in it where you can definitely dip a foot and a half and more. The stream, which winds for about 28 km from the Rosh Ha'Ein area to its confluence with the Tel Aviv River, offers those who dedicate themselves to it incredibly pastoral landscapes. One of them is the hidden waterfall (which is not so hidden and not such a waterfall - but come on, you're in Birkon). A very large natural pool awaits you, in an area where the water is good. And there are many great spots for a picnic.

Another

nearby option is the Beit Leah area - a water pool that awaits you next to Beit Pardes

Nahal Kibbutzim: a real water trip

Here, in the valley of the springs, the river offers a wet and somewhat adventurous walking route, which includes an encounter with concrete pipes that themselves are an attraction. Oh, and you can't get lost either - you just go with the stream and come back the same way or on the corresponding dirt path.

The southern Jordan is the part of the river that flows out of the southern part of the Sea of Galilee. Here it is quiet and calm (but definitely deep!). There are lots of eucalyptus trees next to it, some of which hang Tarzan ropes that will throw you into the water. A picnic is a must, thanks to the beauty of the place, which is not easy to leave quickly.
