Ursula von der Leyen wants a Joint Commission
The deadline of 26 August was theoretically set for each country to designate its representative on the Commission to take office on 1 November.
The French authorities gave no indication of the chosen personality, who could be a woman, Ursula von der Leyen wanting a Joint Commission.
The German president will start this week interviewing candidates for the distribution of portfolios within the Commission.
