(CNN Spanish) - Ximena García, pilot of the Interjet airline, apologized in a video for an “immature” comment he made on his social networks during the Grito de Independencia ceremony this week in Mexico and that generated great controversy in the country.

In the comments attributed to the airline employee, it was said that “a bomb should fall” in the Zocalo of Mexico City while the Grito was celebrated there, the act that commemorates national independence, headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador , before thousands of attendees.

In a video shared on Wednesday on his Facebook account, Ximena García said: “I deeply regret the comment I made on my social networks. It was an immature comment, not thought ”.

In addition, he said he would "never incite violence."

“I really want to apologize to my company, which is a great company; with the president; with Mexico, the people I offended, really, from the heart, I apologize, ”he concluded.

The video arrives after the Interjet airline said, in a statement, that the collaborator had been removed "from the flight line at the end of a series of evaluations."

Earlier on Wednesday, President López Obrador said that the results of an airline investigation should be expected to reach conclusions on the comments attributed to Ximena García.

López Obrador was asked in his morning conference about the message, now deleted. The president said that we must wait to conclude the investigations and "have the evidence, the elements (...) on how these expressions were given, and even wait to see if who supposedly made them confirms them."

"It's an expression, having been done the way it is in the networks, quite strong," said López Obrador.
