Homs-Sana
In Homs, practical steps have been taken to implement the business sector initiative to support the Syrian pound. Businessmen, traders and industrialists deposit funds in dollars to the initiative fund to contribute to supporting the value of the pound against the dollar and stabilizing the exchange rate.
Abdul Nasser Sheikh Fattouh, head of Homs Chamber of Commerce, said that the initiative is a contribution from the business sector to support the national currency and confront speculators, noting that speculation operations are contrary to moral and national values and contribute to the destruction of the economy.
Sheikh Fattouh explained that the essence of the campaign is to deposit money in dollars in the initiative fund account within the Commercial Bank branch No. 3, which transfers the amounts deposited to the Central Bank to deposit the equivalent in Syrian pounds in the account of depositors.
Businessman and member of the Homs Chamber of Commerce Iyad Sibai pointed out that the participation of traders and businessmen in this initiative is a national duty and a step confirming the role of the private business sector in the face of the economic war being waged on Syria.
For his part, Khazen, the Homs Chamber of Commerce, said that the Syrian state has supported the business sector over the past years and provided him with all the facilities to continue his work and his duty to return Gemayel and prevent the risks facing the national currency.
The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry yesterday launched an initiative in support of a group of businessmen, traders and industrialists to support the Syrian pound.
