(Expansion) - The 'Prince of the song', José José, died this Saturday after months of reports of his delicate state of health, caused by pancreatic cancer at age 71.
Throughout his life, José José was the idol of several generations, thanks to his nostalgic songs, which have been heard on vinyl records and today, even on Spotify.

This is a brief summary of the impact that his music has had:
1. For its more than 30 record productions, it was deserving of more than 200 gold and platinum records thanks to its successful sales.
2. José José sold more than 250 million records, making him one of the most successful Latin Americans in history. His music reached non-Hispanic countries such as Saudi Arabia, Japan, Israel, Egypt and Russia.
3. It has the record of the best-selling album in the history of Mexico, Secretos, with almost 5 million units.

The last production in which he participated was his autobiography José José, the prince of the song, for Telemundo in 2018.
9. At Spotify it has 3.7 million monthly listeners and 1.9 million followers. On the platform there are more than 50 productions of the Prince of the song.
