Bolivian President Evo Morales has warned that opposition members would conspire to carry out a possible coup if he wins a new term in Sunday's elections.
Morales was quoted by AFP as saying in an interview with private television channel Gigavision that they wanted to burn down La Paz's presidential headquarters and stage a coup if it wins the election.
Morales said he had "recordings" proving that there was a plot by right-wing opponents with the help of former soldiers.
Opinion polls show Morales' chances of defeating his rival, former president Carlos Mesa, in the October 20 elections are strong.
