The Suwayda Chamber of Agriculture began granting certificates of origin to exporters to export the apple crop to overseas markets for the 2019-2020 season.
In a statement to SANA correspondent today, the president of the Chamber of Agriculture Hatem Abu Ras pointed out that the granting of certificates started with the near completion of the harvesting of crops and the launch of the first stages of external marketing coinciding with the discharge of apples internally in the markets of Sweida and other governorates, as well as storing quantities of it in refrigeration units.
Abu Ras pointed to continue the Chamber in the coming period to grant certificates of origin to export the largest quantities of the crop possible to serve marketing operations.
Estimates of apple production for the current season in Sweida amounted to 21,259 tons.
