In recognition of a career that spanned more than fifty years, the works of 70 artists belonging to different generations met in a collective exhibition in honor of the plastic artist Sawsan Jalal, who enriched the Syrian professional artist with hundreds of distinctive works of art which embodied the most beautiful subjects, especially the roses.
The exhibition, which was held by the Directorate of Damascus Culture, included paintings of various sizes, themes, techniques and techniques that reflected the experiences of veteran artists and young amateurs in a demonstration in which artistic dialogue represented a lot of love and appreciation for the career of the artist Jalal, who in turn participated in a set of paintings through which she embodied flowers and left her own mark. the field.
In addition to the exhibition, which was hosted by a cultural Kfar Soussa, a symposium on the artist was conducted by Elham Sultan, with the participation of plastic artists, Dr. Mohammad Ghanoum, Adeeb Makhzoum and plastic critic Saad Al Qasem. Of talented plasticists must be supported.
Dr. Ghanoum pointed out that the artist Jalal and although she is the daughter of one of the pioneers of formation in Syria, but she was able to be an independent and different personality in addition to that she was a distinguished teacher in the Faculty of Architecture, which enabled her to perform the art message well considering that her experience is based on scientific foundations and rules To become one of the important tributaries of the Syrian plastic movement to have its own identity, especially in touching flowers and roses, explaining that his participation came through a painting expressing the love and femininity enjoyed by the artist Jalal significantly.
In turn, Al-Qasim pointed out that painting is a talent rooted in the artist Jalal as she is from an artistic family that has sold in painting, sculpture and poetry, especially that her late father Mahmoud Jalal left an artistic legacy to follow, but she formed herself an independent artistic and made herself a unique artistic state of expressionism which made her worthy of honor. And well-deserved.
The artist Makhzoum, whose participation came through a body portrayed by a woman on the background of abstract color, explained that the experience of the artist Jalal witnessed a variety of topics and aspects of stylistic and technical, pointing out the excellence in dealing with a topic related to the flowers of Damascus, documented through exhibitions in a modern and contemporary way away from the framework of traditional realism.
On the honorary initiative by the artists participating in the exhibition, Muhyiddin Al-Homsi noted the importance of honoring the pillars of Syrian plastic art from the creators in recognition of their artistic career, including the artist Jalal, noting that his participation came through a painting that embodied the Syrian citizen in the light of the war on his country wearing white that shows joy and hope. .
The beautiful Jamila Katrina expressed her happiness to participate in the exhibition with an expressive painting along with a number of creative artists from different generations, considering that honoring plastic artists for the establishment of a great art is a kind of loyalty, love and appreciation and a positive gesture must be devoted to the Syrian plastic movement.
Sawsan Galal is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1977. She worked in the field of decoration and painting of children's stories. Her first exhibition was with her father, the leading artist Mahmoud Galal, and her brother, Khaled. She also participated in group exhibitions, photography and other local and foreign singles.
