Crisis in Chile: the main background of the crisis

Luis Maira, former Chilean ambassador to Mexico and Argentina, explains that the protests that have shaken Chilean society in recent days are the result of a sum of factors. According to Maira, these began with the constitution made by the dictator Augusto Pinochet and that would serve as the basis for the creation of institutions and modernizations, such as social security management or the health system. Over the years, they gave no expected result for Chileans. In an interview with Carmen Aristegui, Maira says that society is tired of price increases, business scandals, among other situations, to which President Sebastián Piñera has not given an answer.
