Iraqi Governor Nassif al-Khattabi said today that security forces exercised the highest degree of restraint during the events witnessed in the province yesterday, pointing out that there are videos dubbed on those events are incorrect.
"We support and support peaceful demonstrations, but some people attacked public and private property, which necessitated the intervention of security forces to arrest them," al-Khatami told a news conference.
For its part, denied the leadership of Karbala police in a statement today that there were no deaths during demonstrations yesterday, either from the security forces or demonstrators.
The police also categorically denied the fabricated news published in the media, explaining that the videos published were incorrect and intended to stoke the street.
Media sites and non-governmental organizations reported yesterday that 18 people were killed and hundreds injured during demonstrations in Karbala.
