Cuban ambassador to Russia renews solidarity with Syria

Cuban Ambassador to Russia Gerardo Pinaliver Portal said that the neo-colonial approach of the United States by imposing an economic blockade on Cuba, Syria and many countries is nothing but a kind of terrorism directed against other countries, so the United States should be classified not only as a state sponsor of terrorist groups but as a terrorist state in form and content.

In an interview with a SANA correspondent in Moscow, Ambassador Portal reiterated his country's solidarity with Syria and its stand against any aggression and interference in the internal affairs of sovereign and independent countries.

“We in Cuba highly appreciate the role of the Syrian people, which for eight years has been confronting US plans,” he said, adding that unilateral sanctions have become a political approach and practice in the United States to get rid of progressive governments that are not subject to US hegemony in the world, including Cuba. Latin America and Syria in the Middle East.

He explained that Cuba is still living under difficult conditions as a result of the 60-year-old US embargo.

In a similar interview, Dmitry Yegorchenkov, director of the Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasting at the University of Friendship of Peoples in Russia, said that the crisis in Syria was caused by the American, Turkish and Israeli interference with terrorist tools in its internal affairs, pointing out that the occupiers of the Syrian territory have spoken publicly about their ambitions.

He explained that all that the occupation forces and American companies in Syria is a flagrant aggression on the goods and capabilities of the Syrian people.
