Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi announced today his intention to submit an official letter to the House of Representatives requesting his resignation.

Abdul Mahdi said in a statement received by Alsumaria News that in view of the difficult circumstances experienced by the country and the apparent deficit in dealing with the concerned authorities with the developments of the last two months in order to preserve rights and inject blood, the House of Representatives from which the current government is invited to reconsider His choices in this regard and act as dictated by the interest of Iraq and the preservation of the blood of his children and avoid sliding into a cycle of violence, chaos and devastation.

He added that in response to this call and to facilitate and expedite its completion as soon as it will be submitted to the House of Representatives official letter requesting the resignation of the current government to enable the Council to reconsider its options.

There are demonstrations in many areas of Iraq demanding improvement of the living situation, while warning against the exploitation of these demonstrations and the demands of the rightful protesters by some engineers trying to abuse the peaceful demonstration and the security forces charged with the protection of peaceful demonstrators.

The Joint Operations Command announced yesterday the formation of crisis cells headed by the governors to control security and impose law in the provinces and the protection of institutions and public and private interests and the protection of citizens.
