Before her federal party convention in Braunschweig, the AfD faces a new party donation affair.
According to the internal accounting documents available to SPIEGEL and the Swiss weekly newspaper "WOZ", in 2013 and 2014 the AfD repeatedly violated the party law. It is about not properly declared and probably inadmissible donations in a total amount of about 55,000 euros.
Thus, the AfD concealed in one case, a grant in the amount of 11,900 euros, with a party event was funded in Krefeld. In a letter from the donor to the party it was said that the invoice amount had been "pieced together" as requested.

According to the documents, the AfD also used in its early days a black box office, were financed from the campaign activities for selected party affiliations and the then co-chair of the AfD, Konrad Adam. The money flowed over a Hessian club, which had originally been founded in support of the AfD predecessor organization "Wahlalternative 2013".

According to an internal audit report, the cost assumptions of the association in favor of the AfD in 2014 amounted to about 23,000 euros. However, the contributions are not mentioned in the corresponding statement of account of the party. Adam confirmed on SPIEGEL inquiry that he had received at that time election campaign support of the association. He had assumed that everything was done correctly.
The current Federal Treasurer of the AfD, Klaus Fohrmann, told SPIEGEL inquiry that information on events in the founding period of the party in the short response time is "not possible".
Should the federal administration classify the donations as illegal donations, the AfD faces fines of around 133,000 euros.
