The decrease in the number of S6 graduates has continued the cold winter of self-financing institutions. According to the latest data from the Education Bureau, the Caritas Community College in the 2019/20 school year only admitted 19 people, a drop of about 70% from last year; the number of freshmen at Nengren College was only 32, a decrease of about 30% from last year. However, the number of students in some institutions has "increased against the market." For example, Hong Kong's Hang Seng University, which was upgraded last year, admitted 2,235 freshmen this academic year, an increase of about 60% over last year.
