The Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Syria, Geir Pederson, confirmed that it was not possible to hold meetings in the second round of the Constitutional Discussion Committee in Geneva because of the lack of agreement on the agenda, expressing the hope that the date of the next round will be determined.
Speaking to reporters in Geneva today, Pederson said: "In the second round of the constitutional discussion committee it was not possible to hold the meetings because the agenda was not agreed. He explained that according to the rules of procedure, delegations must proceed on the basis of consensus on an agenda and this was not possible."
