On Sunday (December 8), the FDC received a notice of no objection to hold a parade from Victoria Park to Chater Road, Central for the first time in more than four months. Can citizens return to rationality and express their voice in a peaceful and legal way? Will the police uphold professionalism and law enforcement is lawful, reasonable and reasonable? Does the government know what to say and how to be good at it?

Since August, the parade initiated by FDC has been opposed by the police, and it was only possible to rally in Victoria Park on August 18. It was July 21 that a notice of no objection was issued to the last FDC march. More than four months before, society can be described as a life-changing society. Figures such as "July 21" and "August 31" are like imprints and cannot be erased in the minds of some citizens.

The most recent round of severe violent clashes that began with the "junior strike" in November was most shocked by the CUHK and PolyU events. The smoke from Tolo Mountain City, the red brick campus caught fire, and the trapped escaped. The picture shocked the hearts of Hong Kong people. When they saw young people so risking their lives and faced a heavy prison sentence, none of the people who lived in this city could feel at ease. From this perspective, a moment of calm in the district board elections is not only a cherishment of citizens' right to vote, but also to voice their votes, but it is also a way for Hong Kong people to digest their emotions. After all, no one can stay in a state of tension for a long time, and the tension of Hong Kong people has lasted from June to now, and it has become an unbearable burden.

Do yourself well

It is natural for the FDC to launch a large-scale parade on Hong Kong Island on the occasion of International Human Rights Day. Although the wave of demonstrations has not subsided, the police may assess that the violence is less severe than before and therefore issue a notice of no objection. Either way, the two sides can be said to be willing. On the one hand, they want to express their opinions in a legal and peaceful way, and on the other hand, they want to help citizens practice their right to demonstrate.

However, good intentions can also turn into terrible results, and the seemingly quiet situation can turn around at any time. In this regard, all parties in the society have their responsibilities. The public must not do anything, insist on expressing their voices in a peaceful and legal manner, and the police must also uphold professionalism, law enforcement is legal, reasonable and reasonable.

RCD convener Cen Zijie only appealed to the police to refrain from calling on the "brave martial arts" to refrain from using violence after the march, saying that "everyone has their own plans". This is a double standard and cowardice. Ignoring violent demonstrations can make things worse It also reflects that they dare not speak up against the "brave martial arts." The poll conducted by the Hong Kong Institute of Public Opinion for the first time in mid-November showed that more free citizens have regained trust in the police, reflecting that extreme protesters have begun to return public opinion to the pro-government side. Do the community's voices and the popular people see clearly? As for the Commissioner of Police Deng Bingqiang, if the violence happened, FDC should take the courage to condemn the violence, and it was only half right. Rather than expecting others to condemn the "brave martial arts", it is better for the police to do their part effectively, show the proper level and discipline, and meet the expectations of the society again. The eyes of Hong Kong people are clear. Whether it is a protester or the police, if they rely on others to make mistakes to increase their public support instead of doing well and serving the public with morals, it is unwise and irresponsible.

Be tolerant to diversity, tolerance is a virtue

More importantly, the FDC parade is just the beginning of the test. Yin Jian is not far away. On June 16, the million parade was also held and ended peacefully, but the subsequent social situation was appalling. The reason is that the procession is only a step for citizens to express their opinions, and the government must respond appropriately afterwards. Even though our government is not currently elected by universal suffrage, Hong Kong society still expects it to be responsible for public opinion. This is a reality that the government must accept. The chief executive and accountable officials cannot think of themselves as superior and dismissive of the voice of the citizens. Regardless of the cause amendment plan, or the subsequent accountability of the police and the police, or even the recent doubts about the health effects of tear gas, officials must be able to speak up. Even if there is some disagreement, we must lay down and try to convince the general public. If the politician is not in the right direction, even if the first place in the exam or the IQ is very high, it will eventually be insufficient.

After the defeat of the District Councils, the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong (DAB) and other constitutional parties have repeatedly criticized the government, from the Chief Executive to the Secretary. But this is either a post-mortem gesture or venting the personal grievances of the defeat to officials, neither of which will help the society to move forward. Urging the government to govern is the most important thing that the formationists who are regarded as the government's governing allies should do, but they have not done a good job. Will they be able to make a difference in the future? As for the pan-democracy, we have repeatedly reminded them that they have no excuse for the chaos in Hong Kong today. As a member of the political system, the pan-people have political slogans in the Legislative Council. They have no pragmatic suggestions and are even lacking in economic policies and social security. When even the blueprints of the vision do not understand or refuse to plan, how can we expect them to promote social progress?

Since June, Hong Kong has been developing in the worst direction, with predictions of violence, rampant speculation, and the total collapse of the establishment faction continuing to come true. Some even describe Hong Kong as a Gordian knot. But no one needs to be a fatalist, and Hong Kong people are not unable to get out of the vicious circle. It all depends on whether we, regardless of social community, want to see the future again and are willing to work for it.
