As part of the fight against livelihoods, the Department of Agriculture filed two indictments on Wednesday against three different citizens who abandoned their dogs. The indictments are the result of extensive activity by the Department of Agriculture to enforce the grief law, which works to reduce the sad phenomenon of pet abandonment, in which tens of thousands of dogs are abandoned each year.

One Ministry of Agriculture indictment was filed against two residents of Eilat, and another indictment against a resident of Beit Shemesh for both abandoning dogs. According to the first indictment, the accused couple, residents of Eilat, in their 40s and 50s, took their rabies to a remote area of their home and left it at a gas station near the city. The bitch was found by one of the workers at the station and transferred to the animal welfare organization.

In the second indictment, an injured dog found by a law-abiding citizen was reported to the Beit Shemesh Municipality Veterinary Service. The municipal inspector, a resident of the city in his 30s, was lazy to take her to a pet located in Petah Tikva and abandoned her near one of the communities in the Beit Shemesh area.
