Hongkong Post issued a press release today (22th) to remind the public that there is a pop-up window on the website recently to impersonate Hongkong Post to invite the public to participate in the lottery or fill out a questionnaire, so that the public is required to provide personal or credit card information to obtain gifts. Hongkong Post clarified that no online questionnaires or sweepstakes were held at the moment. The public is urged not to click on any of these suspicious links or pop-up windows. The Post has reported the case to the police on these fraudulent websites.

Fake website requires credit card information for gift

Hongkong Post reminds the public that pop-up windows issued by the Department have been faked in Hong Kong recently to guide the public to click on links to fraudulent websites, and the public is careful not to be deceived.

These fake websites invite citizens to participate in surveys or sweepstakes through pop-up windows, and request personal and / or credit card information to obtain gifts. Hongkong Post emphasizes that no online questionnaires or sweepstakes are being organized and urges members of the public not to click on any such suspicious links or pop-ups, provide them with any personal and / or credit card information, or pay any money. Hongkong Post has reported the case to the police for investigation.
