Attorney General Avihai Mandelblit spoke with Attorney Orly Ben-Ari Ginsberg on Sunday, after giving up his acting post as Attorney General. The court said that "the decision she made on Friday to relinquish her post is a valued and courageous step ". He says he appreciates her great contribution to law enforcement and professionalism and that it is clear that she does not question her personal integrity and sincere intentions to assume the role.

Ben-Ari Ginsberg was appointed by Justice Minister Amir Ohana last week to be acting attorney general. This is in contrast to Mendelblit's recommendation for his appointment as Deputy State's Attorney Shlomo Lamberger.

Following the appointment storm, on Saturday evening, the attorney general announced that she was giving up the position. "In the last few days, after about three decades of professional and dedicated work in the prosecution, what has happened to me so much that I believe in is a 'devil dance' in the judicial system, of which I am a part," she wrote. "Despite the privilege of leading the prosecution during this sensitive period, I consider it appropriate to favor the public good and the public interest, over my personal aspirations."

Following Ben-Ari Ginsberg's announcement last night, Ohana said she was pressured to give up her role. In an interview with the Meet the Press program, the minister claimed that "obviously there were heavy pressures and they ultimately matured into Orly's decision, a kind of gun on the table." He said, "I do not know what the gun is and who put it exactly, but it is very unfortunate for me to see that this is how the system works. It is very unfortunate for me and also requires clarification and examination of how the system is operated."
