Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to resign from his post as Minister of Health this weekend. In addition, Deputy Minister Jacob Litzman will be appointed minister on Sunday. Litzman's appointment was made possible after the approval of the Agudat Yisrael Torah Council, which exceptionally authorized him to serve as minister, despite the fact that members of Torah Judaism do not serve as ministers.

Two weeks ago, Netanyahu announced that he would resign from his position as minister until January 1, following the indictment. However, he stressed that he would remain in office as prime minister. Apart from the position of Minister of Health who has held him to this day, Netanyahu functions as Minister of Agriculture, Labor and Welfare and Diaspora. The prime minister will probably resign from his duties only after the primaries in the Likud.

This comes as Shas chairman Aryeh Deri from Netanyahu demands that his party receive two additional files. Deri, who serves as Interior Minister, discussed this with Netanyahu and raised the argument for deprivation in front of the other factions in the right wing. He addressed him in a letter requesting to receive the welfare and agriculture files.

Netanyahu, who, in addition to Deri, was asked by a number of MKs in the Likud to upgrade to ministerial status, asked the Shas chairman to address him in a letter, apparently because of the need to lower the anger in the background of their demand. According to the source, details of the letter also correspond to Deri and Netanyahu. Deri opened his letter by saying that "in recent days there has been news reports in the media about your intention to appoint more Likud ministers."

Deri claimed that "the key mandates by which you are ministers create a distortion of Shas, Likud's largest and most loyal partner." He claims that Likud has 32 seats and 16 ministers and the right-wing parties have received three very large offices with seven seats - Senior Security Portfolio, Education Portfolio, and Transportation Portfolio.
