Most of the streets of Damascus and the tunnels in it witness normal traffic, at a time when service workshops in the governorate continue to treat pools of water pools in some streets by pumping water, isolating emollients, and removing dirt washed away by the continuous rain water since yesterday evening.

The General Supervisor of the Services and Facilities Complex in the Damascus Governorate, Engineer Imad Al-Ali, told SANA representative that the service workshops are working continuously to secure the main axes in the city, especially the tunnels, to prevent any traffic jams, noting that most of the city's streets and tunnels are passable.

Al-Ali explained that the service workshops continue to treat pools of water pools in some streets as a result of clogging of emollients with dirt and dust washed away by rain water, as they are pumping water, isolating emollients, and opening sewage installations "drainage" to drain the water to prevent traffic jams.

Engineer Al-Ali stressed that the emergency workshops are ready around the clock to deal with any emergency as soon as possible to deal with and prevent any bottlenecks in the streets due to the prevailing weather conditions and the impact of the country on an air depression.

The Governorate of Damascus yesterday formed an emergency workshop consisting of directorates of services, cleaning, maintenance, traffic engineering, parks, vehicles, lighting and electricity departments around the clock in anticipation of any emergency that may occur in the city due to the prevailing weather conditions and allocated the phone number 2195481 to report any emergency.

A significant decrease in temperature occurred with the entry of cold air mass to the region to be lower than its rates in conjunction with heavy rainfalls in most governorates and snowfall in areas with a height of more than 1400 m, according to the Meteorological Department.
