In the hall where a wing arrangement was held yesterday (Wednesday) at the base, yesterday stood Lt. Y. and Lt. A, a pilot and a combat navigator. After a three-year flying course, they threw the hats in the best of tradition, and underneath were knitted domes.

As the graduates of the pre-military, Ali preparations, they carried a whole sector and lifestyle on their shoulders, and as pilots succeeded one of the most difficult challenges an IDF soldier could face.

Although they did not know until the beginning of the flying course, because they had studied in different cycles in the preparatory course, they both had a similar background. Lt. Y. (22) was born in Panama and immigrated to Israel in 1998. He lives on Gezer Regional Council, a third brother in a four-brother family. He studied for a year in the preparation of cousins with previous recruiting. Lt. A. (22) was born in Israel, but moved with his family to New York due to a role his father played in the embassy. He currently resides with his family in the Gush Etzion Regional Council. He also has four brothers, and he studied for a total of two years in the Pre-Military Prep, to which he returned at the age of 18 to enlist in the IDF.

The two talk in an interview to "Israel Today" that they did not originally plan to attend a pilot course, but to special units such as the General Staff Patrol and various intelligence units, and fell in love with the field during the course. "I did not have a childhood dream of flying. It was important to me to have a significant role and to be able to utilize my skills, "says Lt. A, and Lt. J. reinforces his remarks." I didn't know anyone who served in the Air Force before. I aimed for infantry units, cruisers, a cherry unit, a commander in chief of staff and the like. "

In recent years, controversial statements have been made by some preparatory rabbis. My husband claimed that it was a persecution, and against various politicians demanded to stop transferring budgets to them. Both pilots, for their part, make it clear that they did not feel the change at all, noting that it was precisely the set of values they received in the preparations that helped them get through the break points.

"Challenging training"

"Training is challenging and intensive in many different areas, but at the end of the sense of satisfaction is very significant," Lt. A says. I didn't feel the need to protect the preparer in any way. Everyone knows Ali and the spirit she represents. " According to Lt. J: "Preparatory education is for excellence and contribution on all levels."

Lt. Y. also provides a tip for young people who are interested in applying for a pilot course and for those who are currently taking the challenging stages involved. "In the end, it's all about investing," he explains, "whoever invests and wants it stays here."
