The heavy rain that fell in Lattakia governorate caused drifts and road crashes in several parts of the governorate, as well as some of the agricultural lands adjacent to the Blue Beach road were flooded and reached the main road, which led to bottlenecks in the rainy craters.

The Secretary General of the Governorate, Mohamed Refaat, stated in a statement to a SANA reporter that the mechanisms and elements of the Sewerage Company, the Water and Civil Defense Corporation, the Water Resources Directorate and the workers of the Technical and Maintenance Services Department in the City Council went to the Blue Beach Road immediately and were working to address these bottlenecks.

Muhammad pointed to the occurrence of road collapses at the entrance to the village of Al-Quraymaniyah, the road from the Al-Bahlouliya cemetery towards Jabal Ras Ouj and the road towards the splendor of the valley, Sheikh Khalil farm, and in the road to the village of Al-Zoubar in Lattakia countryside, which caused partial cutting of some of these roads, as technical services mechanisms worked to address them.

The torrential rain water blocked the streams of water in the villages of Al-Hikr, Pine and Red, Harf Al-Aseel, Khadramo and Bseisin, and in Karsana, Ras Ibn Hani, Al-Hanadi and Al-Bassa in Lattakia countryside.

Engineer Nabil Hassan, Director of Water Resources in Latakia, stated in a similar statement that workers and mechanisms went to the aforementioned sites to isolate the entry and exit ferries, allowing the flow of water, indicating that during the past days and before the recent rain wave, the entry and exit of 160 water terms

With a total length of about 30 km throughout the governorate, the last of which was seven sites in the village of Sarsakiya in Lattakia countryside, to alleviate ferry blockages and floods.

The amount of heavy rains yesterday until eight o’clock this morning in Lattakia was 106 mm, according to the rain forecast issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform.
