Palestinian prisoners 'organizations confirmed that the Israeli occupation forces arrested more than 5,500 Palestinians during 2019, including 889 children, calling on the international community to pressure the occupation authorities to stop their violations of the prisoners' rights and to release them.
The prisoners and human rights institutions (the Prisoners Club, the Prisoners Affairs Authority, and the Al-Dameer Foundation for Prisoner Care and Human Rights) have clarified in a fact sheet issued today and reported by the Wafa Agency that the number of Palestinian prisoners who are still in the detention camps of the occupation amounted to 5,000, including 40 prisoners, 200 children and 11 journalists. .
The paper indicated that the occupation authorities intensified their arbitrary arrests of Palestinian children and minors, directly targeted journalists in occupied Jerusalem, and prevented the Palestine TV team from working in the city in an attempt to suppress the truth of its crimes.
The paper pointed out that the occupation authorities escalated their aggressive practices and violations against Palestinian prisoners through systematic torture, solitary confinement, solitary confinement and deliberate medical negligence, pointing to the martyrdom of 5 prisoners in the occupation camps as a result of medical negligence, namely (Fares Baroud, Omar Awni Younis, Nasr Taqatqa, Bassam Al-Sayeh and Sami Abu Dayak). The number of prisoners martyrs to 222 prisoners since 1967.
The paper pointed out that the number of sick prisoners in the occupation camps reached more than 700, including 10 suffering from cancer and 200 chronic diseases.
