A 40-year-old child died Wednesday during a birth at Sheba Hospital. A sudden deterioration occurred in her condition and she needed medical treatment and even resuscitation, which was eventually determined by her death. The baby was born in good condition and the circumstances of the unusual case are still under examination. "Despite the combined treatment of the best specialists in the hospital and after prolonged CPR efforts, her death was determined," the hospital statement said.

Last week, a 26-year-old young woman was hospitalized after giving birth, suffering from severe flu. This is another case of influenza illness, after the death of a one-and-a-half-year-old baby from the center area near the same event, as well as a 14-year-old girl and 19-year-old who also died of flu in recent days.

In May of this year, Sheeran Sa'at died after having a baby at Soroka Hospital in Beer Sheva. Sa'at's condition, which was in her 40th week of pregnancy, deteriorated abruptly after delivery. After prolonged resuscitation, her condition continued to deteriorate, and her death was determined at the hospital.
