(CNN) - Mariah Carey is the first artist to head the Billboard charts in four different decades, and all thanks to her Christmas classic.

The singer earned a number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and now, 2020s.

Billboard Hot 100 data combines radio broadcast, sales and online streaming, and it was the latter that probably drove Carey's song to the top.

In December, the singer released a new music video for the 25-year-old song, which gave her some new views and kept her on top of the broadcast lists for four weeks in a row.

The album is also one of the few songs with at least 72.2 million online streams in a week, Billboard reported.

Some other artists have topped the list in three different decades, including Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Madonna and Usher, but Carey takes the crown for four decades, and with what is now the best-placed Christmas song of all time.

Carey celebrated tweeting: “Yaaaaaaaaaaay !! THE. WE DID. But ... what is a decade?
