A man was wounded by French police gunfire today after he pulled a knife in a street in the northeastern city of Metz.
The city's prosecutor, Christian Christiane, was quoted as saying that the man "is known for his extremism and personality disorder."
The French police announced yesterday the killing of a person near Paris after he tried to stab several people. It was also announced in August last year that one person was killed and six others were wounded in a stabbing operation in Villeurbanne, central France.
