Iran announced this Sunday that it was ending its commitment to the 2015 nuclear agreement with the world powers in the wake of the US attack that killed General Qassem Soleimani in Iraq.
The president, Donald Trump, unilaterally withdrew from the agreement last May, renewing tensions between the two countries that reached new heights after Friday's airstrike.
Iran's state television has reported that it will no longer meet the limits of the agreement, which restricted nuclear development in exchange for the reduction of crippling economic sanctions against Tehran.
The agreement put limits on the country's uranium enrichment, the amount of enriched uranium stored, as well as research and development in its nuclear activities.
The European allies of the United States have tried to save the agreement despite Trump's decision to withdraw and impose sanctions again, but Iran has gradually reduced its commitments and now leaves the agreement in ruins.
The country's Foreign Ministry had said earlier earlier that recent events caused Iran to move further away from the agreement than originally planned.
