Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang renewed his rejection of US interference in Hong Kong affairs, stressing that no foreign government or organization has the right to interfere in it.
In response to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's intervention in Hong Kong affairs, Shuang said: “Since Hong Kong has returned home, it has been governed by the Chinese side in accordance with the Constitution and the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the policies of one country and two systems have been implemented. Hong Kong is a fact recognized by the international community.
"The American side is not qualified to speak about Hong Kong affairs," the spokesman added.
China recently condemned the US Senate’s approval of a law on supporting riots in Hong Kong, stressing that the goal of the United States “is nothing but to support extremists and violent anti-China elements trying to sow chaos in Hong Kong.”
