The Nazareth Magistrate's Court extended the arrest of a Karmiel resident suspected of murdering the 32-year-old woman who was found on Wednesday morning in her Carmiel apartment without signs of life. The 30-year-old - known to police in the area of drug offenses - was arrested shortly after the incident and was likely in the murdered apartment at the time of the incident.

During the hearing, the judge said there was "reasonable suspicion at a very high level" and that "the investigation was initiated at the outset and many investigations and many questions are required for her. The judge stated: "Naturally, the forensic investigation is required for quite a few days and these days the suspect will remain in custody."

The suspect's lawyer, Ala Atamana, claimed the two were "good friends" and, according to him, the suspect claimed that the murderer attacked her and stabbed her and therefore had to defend herself.
