For his part, the Russian President asked the members of the resigned government to continue carrying out their duties with "complete" until the formation of a new government, announcing at the same time that he intends to create the post of Vice-President of the Russian Security Council and present it to Dimitry Medvedev, knowing that the presidency of the Council belongs to the Head of State.
"Medvedev has experience in the position of head of state and he has also held the presidency of the Russian government for 8 years and has always taken care of matters related to strengthening the country's security and defense capabilities," Putin said.
