After the fire comes the sand: Huge sandstorms that have turned the day into the night have occurred in recent days in central New South Wales state of eastern Australia.
The storms caused a significant change in weather across the continent, causing heavy rainfalls of up to 100 mm in many areas. The air and its cover in a particularly thick layer of sand are many towns.
Rose Beer, a meteorologist from the area, said that "the rains were concentrated in the north of the continent and its eastern regions. These other severe weather phenomena such as a hail ball appeared particularly large."
An unusual amount of precipitation was recorded in the southern state of Victoria. The emergency center was flooded with more than 1500 calls for help due to the large and heavy hail damage. Like many coastal towns near rivers in the state of New South Wales, the most inhabited state on the continent, they experienced within an hour and a half heavy rainfalls ranging from 100-180 mm, causing many flooding.

Meanwhile, fire services are taking advantage of the areas where it is raining to stem the resurgence of fires, which could erupt when dry weather returns to those parts of the country. At the same time, there are still fires in areas where the rain has not arrived, so despite the respite, the fire services and rescue services are stretched to the limit between the aid to the victims of the fires and the aid to places where the rain has now hit too intensely.
