The article mentioned that young people in many parts of the world, such as the Middle East and Latin America, took to the streets to express dissatisfaction with those in power, economic and democratic retrogression. In Hong Kong, these street fighters with high school and college students as their backbone are willing to bet themselves In the future, we will defend our homeland and hope to "recover" Hong Kong.

Some young people said that while fighting on the front line was frightening, but they did not hinder his determination to protect Hong Kong, his birthplace, and described the situation in Hong Kong as going backwards. Another demonstrator pointed out that he was originally "harmonious," but when he saw that the government was indifferent to taking one or two million people to the streets, he had no choice but to go radical. The 20-year-old bluntly stated that they have gone on the road of no return, so I believe that everyone cannot lose, and they will not give up.

Many interviewees bluntly stated that they would rather die, and one of them thought that if he encountered an accident, the anger he caused could be at least a fuel for the resistance movement. Another demonstrator studying public administration originally wanted to join the government to change the system, but found it too naive. He pointed out that joining the system will only bring two consequences: being destroyed by the system, or not changing anything, and becoming an accomplice to help the system continue to operate, so he chose to fight it and change it from the outside.

The struggle lasted for more than seven months and has not yet seen an end. Andrew Junker, visiting professor at the CUHK Sociology Department, believes that the government has only two ways to resolve disputes. One is to arrest all demonstrators or respond to some requests such as investigating police issues. He warned that if the government did not make any political concessions, real riots in Hong Kong would be a "logical consequence".
