Naama Issachar returns to her home after liberation: "Thank you everyone for everything"

After 10 months in prison, the Israeli young woman returned home. It landed at Ben Gurion Airport on PM's plane after receiving a pardon from Russian President Putin. After her arrival, Naama said she was "still in the market from every situation." Netanyahu explained that her release was particularly necessary because "the crisis could thwart relations with Russia"

Naama Issachar arrived at her home on Thursday evening after a 10-month prison sentence in Russia. Issachar flew to Israel on the Prime Minister's plane, together with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who visited Russia and met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. After landing at Ben Gurion Airport, Naama said that "I am still in the market for all the situation, but I admit it all." She was released from Russian prison today following a pardon decided by the Russian president.

Shortly after arriving at the family home, Yaffe Issachar came out and made a statement to the media, in which she thanked everyone who came and everyone involved in the process of liberating her home. "I thank the Prime Minister, the NSC, the media, Naama and all the activists. She did not imagine the prime minister taking her home himself, "she said excitedly." I am glad to have my two daughters. We had fun in Israel. We will wrap it up and show how you will cope, ”she added.

She said "we will be in a small family and can be recovered," and said of her reactions since her release. "When I met her, she said she didn't know what she was feeling," she said. "Naama upstairs can shower properly. On the plane, she was excited about the amount, because she hadn't had it for ten months. She was flooded. Now she's laughing, on the plane she saw the sunset and started crying."

Prime Minister Olmert said about his meeting with Naama Issachar, saying that "Naama was very excited, it is impossible to describe. This is her first time going outside, seeing trees and sky, not simple. She has not seen the sky before, and thanked me and my wife." He said Naama's detention issue in Russia is different from any other Israeli detention in the world, as this crisis could have hampered strategic relations with Russia and therefore it was important to bring her home, to counteract the problem.

Netanyahu added that "relations with Russia are strategic, first and foremost." He explained, "We cultivated relations with Russia to prevent a military clash in the region, so the crisis could thwart the entire relationship. It was important to resolve the crisis that was gaining momentum. Involvement was essential."

Netanyahu has put forward several reasons why the story has gained momentum, the first being the issue of immigration, in which Israel returns Russians who land at Ben-Gurion Airport for fear of emigration, as well as the extradition request from Russian hacker Alexei Burkov. "We smelled this mine, and it was important to me personally to neutralize it," he said. The Prime Minister said that he visited Naama in the colony on the flight, "We and my wife went to ask for peace on the flight. Earlier, Naama and her beautiful mother met with the Prime Minister at the Moscow airport and thanked him for his assistance in obtaining the pardon, and her release from prison. At the Kremlin meeting, Netanyahu thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for granting the pardon to the Israeli young woman. "Thank you on behalf of all the people of Israel for your quick decision to pardon Naama Issachar," Netanyahu said at the opening of the meeting. "This is something that excites all of us and our gratitude is given to all citizens of Israel, from the heart." The Russian president said his meeting with Yaffe Issachar last week helped him make the decision to pardon her. "I decided to give her a pardon and that's a lot thanks to meeting her mother," the president said. "But keep in mind that they also found drugs in her bag. I wish her well and her family well."

On her way to the plane, Issachar embraced with Israeli Ambassador to Russia Jacob Livneh. The ambassador described the meeting between the young woman and the prime minister and said that "it was excellent, glad that Naama was released." Livneh said, "She is happy that she is returning home. She thanked the Prime Minister and the Foreign Ministry. Most importantly, Naama is returning home. That's what we do in these kinds of cases."

The 26-year-old Issachar was sentenced to seven and a half years in Russian court after being arrested last April in Moscow for holding 9.6 grams of cannabis found in a backpack, while stopping at the Sharmiitabo airport on the way back to India.
