More airlines suspend flights to China for the coronavirus 0:54
(CNN Spanish) - The Government of El Salvador decided to suspend the entry of travelers from China, as part of the measures taken to prevent the expansion of the coronavirus.
At the same time, the authorities commission the Foreign Ministry to support Salvadorans living in China.
The decision, disseminated in a statement, is due to the increase in cases in the world and for the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare the international health emergency.

According to the Press Secretariat of the Salvadoran executive, the first filter to prevent the entry of passengers from China would be the airlines. In the event that anyone arrives in El Salvador, the authorities of the General Directorate of Migration and Foreigners would prevent entry, the government said.
The statement adds that sanitary controls will also be reinforced at the San Óscar Arnulfo Romero International Airport, especially those flights from other countries where the virus is already circulating.
For this, the authorities say they have installed a thermal camera in the terminal, to measure the body temperature of the passengers and to identify possible carriers of the virus. As explained by the government, the protocol will be activated when a person shows a temperature of 37.7 degrees Celsius or higher.
At that time, the person will be notified and a medical team will make a more detailed evaluation to rule out contagion.
For now, El Salvador does not report suspected cases of coronavirus.
