Is the source of the plague? The medical journal reputedly Nature reports that Chinese scientists have been able to get the source of the corona virus - bats. According to a report by the New York Post today (Monday),

A team of researchers performed DNA tests on seven viruses in the city of Wuhan and found a 96 percent genetic match between the virus found in them and the strain of the virus found in bats.

Panic in the market in Wahan

The New York Post noted that bats are considered common food in China. It should be noted that this is not the first virus that passes from bats to humans, and the SARS virus is also estimated to have been derived from flying mammals.

However, the SARS virus did not come directly from bats to humans, but passed through cats, whose domesticated animal is interacting more with humans.

Parallel to the report, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has attacked the world media today, accusing it of creating a panic that is detrimental to its outbreak. "They don't help with the virus, they just panic," a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

Meanwhile, authorities in China reported that the number of people infected with the deadly virus has risen to over 17,000 people. The official quorum is 361, with one death occurring in the Philippines. However, authorities have reported a decline in the infection rate.

Another reason for optimism in China is the opening of a new hospital in Wuhan, built in about a week, which has 1,000 beds and will only treat the Corona patients. Another hospital, which is currently being built and a nearby site, and will contain 1,500 beds, is expected to open in the coming days.
