The French state budget deficit stood at 92.837 billion euros at the end of December 2019, widening from its level of 76.002 billion euros in the same period a year earlier, according to published data. Tuesday, February 4 by the Ministry of Action and Public Accounts.

In detail, spending increased by 1.9%, amounting to 397.98 billion euros against 390.69 billion last year over the same period. This increase was not offset by an increase in revenues, which fell 4.1% over the period, from 313.78 to 301.07 billion euros.
The sharp increase in the balance of the special accounts, from 0.82 to 4.07 billion euros, is explained in particular by the revenue from the privatization of La Française des Jeux. The special accounts list in particular the financial flows linked to advances granted to local authorities within the framework of the collection by the State of local taxes and the financial contributions of the State.
