Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - District Administrator Josef Niedermaier (Free Voter) has been in office since 2008. Six years ago, the father of two daughters prevailed against three challengers - in the first ballot. This time, the 56-year-old Tölzer, who was also a nice mayor in his hometown, has to deal with another candidate.

CSU challenger used to be among the free voters

Probably the toughest competitor for Niedermaier comes from within its own ranks. Anton Demmel was a member of the Free Voters until two years ago, when the Königsdorfer City Councilor switched to the CSU. For them, the 48-year-old father of two children is now entering the race on March 15.

The SPD came up with a surprise candidate. Filiz Cetin has only been living in the district since the summer of 2018. The 43-year-old single mother of a 16-year-old son has local political experience: In 2014 she ran for the district council and the municipal council in Landshut (Lower Bavaria) and won both mandates. Cetin has Turkish roots, was born in Göppingen (Baden-Württemberg) and now lives in Bad Tölz.

Linke presents a candidate for the first time

Almost traditionally, Klaus Koch is running for the Greens. The current third district administrator is throwing his hat into the ring for the third time. The 55-year-old has three children and lives in Eurasburg. There he also sits on the municipal council.

Sebastian Englich is quite new in the political business. Only since 2019 has the 34-year-old Tölzer been a member of the Left Party, for which he is now entering the race. For the first time, his party is also running its own list for the district council.

Which topics interest people most in the district election campaign?
