Democratic lawmakers in the US Congress announced their rejection of the "Deal of the Century" set by the administration of US President Donald Trump.
Media outlets reported that 107 Democrats in the US Congress affiliated with the Democratic Party signed an open letter vehemently rejecting Trump's plan in a move initiated by Michigan Rep. Andrew Levin and California lawmaker Alan Stewart Lewenthal as well as 7 other politicians.
"We are writing to you to express our rejection in the strongest form of your management proposal ... We are concerned about the content of your plan that will exacerbate the conflict and the timing of its disclosure," the signatories said, addressing Trump, noting that the "Deal of the Century" was positioned by a team that had long ago affirmed its hostile stance towards The idea of establishing a Palestinian state.
"This plan does not enjoy our support, and the" Israeli government "should not consider it as a license to violate international law by annexing the West Bank or parts of it," he added.
Trump had announced in a blatant bias of the occupation entity and a violation of international legitimacy decisions late last month the terms of the so-called "deal of the century" and was met with widespread Arab and international rejection.
