The two mayor candidates Anton Kerle (CSU) and Michael Reiter (Free Voting Community Altomünster) had to answer a lot of questions from DN readers and from the audience at the DN panel discussion. Two issues were particularly controversial.

Altomünster - Naturally, the two mayor candidates did not always have the same opinion in the panel discussion, there were also one or two objections or a tip from the opponent.

Living room

The question from moderator Sabine Schäfer, how strong the pressure on Altomünster is to create affordable living space in the bacon belt of Munich and thereby keep the community livable and lovable, was supplemented by Markus Zieglwallner's question about criteria for balance between development and infrastructure. There were sometimes different answers. "The pressure is enormous," said Anton Kerle. A lot is being built, but the needs of living space are also increasing. "The free-standing single-family house will no longer exist in the future", he signaled and the existing ones are already being added, converted or added to. One must also take into account the social change with singles or more older people. A reasonable concentration within the place would probably take place.

Michael Reiter also saw it that way and argued that this should also be done in the districts and, above all, that old farmsteads could be built on where it was reasonable. Of course, parking spaces, the access roads and the proximity to the neighbors would have to be taken into account. However, he was also there for re-compaction, "but with a sure instinct, such as on the riding fields".

community development

Siegfried Bradl asked about a community development plan for Altomünster and the districts, which he had been missing for decades. “There is talk about individual topics, but not about an entire concept,” said Bradl. Anton Kerle said that the municipal council had only recently launched one with urban development and “with citizen participation, of course”. "I have already seen many concepts come and go and many end up in the drawer," remarked Michael Reiter. He would prefer these things to be implemented together with the citizens.

infrastructure

This topic was addressed by several people in advance or directly. Elke Ozminski wanted to know what ideas the candidates have to adapt the infrastructure with kindergarten, recycling center, supermarket and more to the rapid growth of the place. "We are currently building a new kindergarten group," explained Michael Reiter. Because all kindergartens in the community are full. The pupils would also be more, the childcare would always be expanded and even the traffic should be considered. "Maybe you will need a bypass again."

Anton Kerle was also pleased that all legal requirements could be met in the kindergarten area. The district is responsible for the recycling center, but the municipality is responsible for the parking spaces. Here the number at the station was and is currently being expanded. However, he conceded that the parking spaces in town might have to be time-limited. Thomas Polster asked about other supermarkets, especially a drugstore. "The plan is in the drawer," Michael Reiter knew, because the local council had declined. Anton Kerle explained that there was a plan and that another provider wanted to build twice as large. "Not with me," said the mayor, "because then we will lose the local businesses, which are especially important for older people.

Daniela Weinberger wanted to know what it would look like in a civic or parish hall, especially since there is no prospect of using the monastery. The planning for a parish hall is already in place, says Kerle, but he would not choose the parish garden for a building, but rather the area of the cloister. In March he had another conversation with the diocese, and then they would continue to be seen.

Michael Reiter also saw that you couldn't get ahead at the moment. However, he advocated saving money for such things, at times when the income was no longer gushing like it is now.

Dreifachturnhalle

Weinberger wanted to know what it was like to build a triple gymnasium that had long been required. Here, too, you already have a finished plan, but no funding opportunities, as Anton Kerle explained. The existing double gymnasium is sufficient for the school itself. If so, then you have to build together with an association and also consider a hall. Michael Reiter was able to underline this. He also thought that you had to do it together.

Naturbad

Daniela Weinberger's third topic was the realization of the natural pool. Since he has been with the Naturbad association from the start, Michael Reiter was the first to comment. Since the funds saved were too low, the construction of the recreational area association could perhaps be used to build the building. But a good infrastructure is also important.

"Michael listened to me well and said exactly what I have already explained x times," countered Anton Kerle, which Reiter vehemently rejected. Kerle also emphasized that the general conditions for construction are better than ever and that a bathroom would be an asset to any location. The operation is guaranteed in any case.

Changing demographics

"Whether the demographic change of the population will be taken into account in the future, so that older people can also participate in society" was another question. At the moment, family structures are still intercepting a lot, believes Anton Kerle, who regretted that the trial operation of call taxis was not accepted and was therefore discontinued. His goal is to create small citizen buses when the time is right. For Michael Reiter not only the area community was important, but also the accessibility and mobility in Altomünster with its large height differences.

Road improvements, nature conservation, light pollution and the monastery were other small points.
