(CNN Spanish) - The Minister of Health of Argentina, Ginés González García, said Friday that "there is no danger with the Argentine citizen who contracted coronavirus" while enjoying a cruise in Japan. He added that there is also no risk of the disease spreading in the country because, as he explained, when that passenger is "discharged, he will be cured and there is no possibility of infection."

González specifically referred to the situation of the Argentine tourist who tested positive while aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship, which is quarantined in the port of Yokohama, 30 kilometers from Tokyo. The minister confirmed that he is in contact with the Foreign Ministry to closely follow the case as indicated in the international protocols.
The official stressed that the response system proposed by the government has worked "very well" so far. He also reported that “the situation in Argentina is better than in other countries. First, we are very far. Second, we do not have direct flights. Third, we are in summer and this type of virus works less. ”

Finally, Gonzalez was hopeful with the information he has received in recent hours about the evolution of the coronavirus outbreak. “The good fact of the day is that the new cases decreased. That is a good symptom because it indicates that we may be in the period of decline of the epidemic. ”
