A heavy climate hits the municipal elections. This election, known to be the most peaceful and consensual in general, was marked this year by a series of spectacularly violent incidents. In the markets, the altercations multiply and the complaints accumulate. Against the backdrop of pension reform, the majority candidates are particularly targeted, but the other parties are not spared. This surge affects both large cities and smaller municipalities.

In Mayotte, the candidate (without label) Midiar Boinaïdi Djadjou is between life and death after being attacked at the end of a public meeting. In Leforest, in Pas-de-Calais (7,000 inhabitants), the LFI candidate Gautier Weinmann withdrew his candidacy after being beaten in the face by accompanying his children to school.
