Iran has appointed Muhammad a-Qutrani, a senior Shiite terrorist, to replace US power leader to Kuds killed by US • "Suleimani trusted him"

Found the replacement? Hezbollah senior Muhammad a-Qutranani is currently serving as the replacement of Quds Qassam Suleimani's commander in Iraq, and will be the coordinator of Shiite militias in the country, Reuters reports on Tuesday.

According to the report, a-Kutharani met in January - just days after his Suleimani assassination - with militias to fill the vacuum left by the American assassination of Iran's allies in her neighbor to the west. It is important to note that, together with Suleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Mohandis, one of Iraq's top pro-Iranian militias, was also eliminated.

The appointment is intended to keep Iran's power in Iraq, in a country torn apart by pro-American and pro-Iranian forces, after years of civil war, since the United States invaded the country in 2003 and ousted Saddam Hussein.

In the months before his assassination, Suleimani has invested a great deal of time in strengthening Shiite militias in Iraq, and the elimination has greatly hurt the Iranian effort to strengthen its hold on the country. According to Iraqi sources, a-Kutharani continued with Suleimani's steps, scolding militias for failing to mobilize popular support against the Iraqi government, as Suleimani himself did.

A-Qutrani also asked Iranian militias to unite in order to elect a pro-Iranian prime minister to Iraq. A-Qutrani has worked extensively with Suleimani, and his appointment signifies Hezbollah's strengthening of the Iranian forces, especially in the interim during Quds force after the American assassination.

"Non-Kutharani communicates well with the militants," said a Shiite leader in Iraq, who noted that a-Kutharani himself was born in Najaf in the country and lived there for years. "Suleimani trusted him," he noted. However, he made it clear that the appointment was probably temporary, until Iranian officials were appointed.
