(CNN Spanish) - Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó, recognized as interim president for more than 50 countries, will return to his country "in the next few hours," his wife Fabiana Rosales said in his Twitter account on Tuesday.

Rosales said that deputies members of the Legislative Assembly led by the opposition and the accredited diplomatic corps will accompany her to receive him at Simón Bolivar International Airport in Maiquetía.

Guaidó's wife also summoned the Venezuelan people to arrive at the airport.

This Monday, Guaidó had said that he was returning to Venezuela “with the commitment of our allies, with actions and measures that will be executed and with the call to our people so that we can reactivate the struggle and popular mobilization”.

“I assume my role, I assume my responsibility with all the risks involved, I invite each of you as you have always done, to assume yours. I summon each of you because we are the protagonists of the liberation of Venezuela and we are called to be one so that there can be only one country, present and future, ”he said in a video on his Twitter account.

Guaidó left his country in mid-January to have multiple meetings with international leaders in Brussels, Davos, London, Madrid, Ottawa, Miami and Washington. He attended the State of the Union speech by US President Donald Trump and had a meeting with the president in the Oval Office.

Guaidó's political tour was done in defiance of the travel ban imposed by the government of the besieged president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.
