Health authorities in San Diego, California reported that by mistake a hospital in that city released the first American to be evacuated from Wuhan, China. The mistake came after the initial tests were confused with that of a patient who had not been infected, so he was authorized to return to quarantine in Miramar. A subsequent analysis revealed that it was a positive case. The patient was taken back to the hospital and remains isolated under observation.
