The publication, this Wednesday, February 12, 2020, of the post-synodal apostolic exhortation Dear Amazon, signed by Pope Francis, document of conclusion of the synod that he convened in Rome in October 2019 to rule on the pastoral future of this region of the world, is awaited as never any ecclesial document has been for decades.

Quite simply because this synod voted by a two-thirds majority, on October 26, 2019, this flagship proposal, numbered 111: "We propose to establish criteria (...) to ordain priests of suitable men and recognized by the community, who have a fertile permanent diaconate (…), able to have a legally constituted and stable family, for (…) the celebration of the sacraments in the most remote places of the Amazon region. Some have declared themselves in favor of a universal approach to this subject. ”
