The four accused, born between 2000 and 2004, were placed in pre-trial detention, including three in penal establishments for minors, reported the public prosecutor of Dunkirk, Sébastien Piève. They are suspected of having violently attacked a group of carnival people they did not know, at the exit of the "black cat ball" on the embankment of Malo-les-Bains, on the night of February 1 to 2. Arrested Monday, they denied their involvement in police custody. They also charged with aggravated willful violence against the other members of the carnival group.
The victim, a young 27-year-old volunteer firefighter but who was not on duty, is still in very serious condition, the source said. The reason for the attack, which would have taken place very quickly, is not yet known. The thesis of a gratuitous aggression is not excluded. Two other young members of the group, born in 2000 and 2004, were placed under the intermediate status of assisted witness.
