Hernán Lorenzino, the former Minister of Economy marked by the phrase “I want to leave” when asked about inflation in an interview, will return to the Government in the Public Works portfolio . Former ambassador to the European Union in the last stage of Cristina Kirchner's management, he will now be a lecturer in “macroeconomic analysis in financing schemes for works and obtaining international funds” in the ministry led by Gabriel Katopodis.
In Public Works they said that Lorenzino will provide advice under the orbit of Gerardo Otero , chief of staff of that portfolio. "It has a very solid technical profile, we have it very well conceptualized," they said near Katopodis.
Lorenzino assumed as Minister of Economy at the start of Cristina Kirchner's second term and remained in office for almost two years, until he was replaced by Axel Kicillof. In April 2013, he had cut an interview when asked about the difference between official inflation figures and private consultants. After rehearsing an occasional response, he asked: “Can I cut this? I want to go ” , words that were recorded and generated a strong impact. The phrase became a matter of mockery and memes during the final stage of that Kirchner government.
In November of that year he was appointed Argentine Ambassador to the European Union and Belgium, and during that section he specialized in financial and debt issues. Before that, he had been Secretary of Finance, director of Banco Provincia and had worked on the restructuring of the debt of that district.
In the ministry led by Katopodis, he will move as a technical advisor to obtain international loans and financing for public works projects, they said at Casa Rosada.
