Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, announced today that only Libyans should take a decision on the future of their country, stressing that Moscow abstained from voting on a British draft resolution on Libya because it is not clear whether all the parties concerned are ready to implement the Berlin decisions.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov considered during a press conference last month that the Berlin conference on Libya is a "small step" towards settling the crisis in this country, noting that the efforts of the parties concerned to launch a serious and constructive dialogue between the two parties to the crisis in Libya have not yet succeeded due to the existence of differences Too big to approach the sides.
