For the series "True North Arctic Blizzard" Stephen Dürr was in Longyearbyden on Spitsbergen in Norway. There were minus degrees - but not uncommon in this area. But last Wednesday the thermometer suddenly dropped to minus 33 degrees , as reported by Bild.de. The TV star spent ten hours filming in the bitter cold. He wore thick socks and Bundeswehr boots on his feet. But apparently that wasn't protection enough. “In the evening in the hotel my toes were frozen. I didn't feel it anymore, ”Dürr told the paper.

He came to the hospital immediately, his frozen toes wrapped in warm compress. But the help came too late - the toes had already turned blue . Stephan Dürr immediately went back to Germany - now he has to be operated on twice! From the bedside he speaks to his fans. The message: It will be fine!

Stephen Dürr is currently in a clinic in Hamburg . The tissue of the big toes is inflamed, and in some cases has even died. The TV star has two operations in front of him - here it will be decided whether his two toes can still be saved or whether he will get an amputation *.
Despite the shooting accident, the TV star likes to think back to the time in Norway. From the sick bed he posts a selfie from Norway and writes: "Super shooting day with our sled dogs before my toes were frozen and we were still in Norway."
